I don’t know if I’ve officially done something of a sermon before, and if I have then let this be the start of a new chapter. These days everyone lives in fear of everything and anything, turning to the idea of ‘cancellation’ as if it will protect them. If you turn a blind eye to an idea, does it truly go away? Or do you simply remain ignorant as it grows beyond your means of continuing to shun it away?

Where I’ve Been

I’ll admit, I’ve been pretty absent on here for the last few months. Major changes in my life called me away from continuing to write and speaking my mind aside from posting about my various studies: both spiritual and physical. I’ve moved back home to my birth state to help care for my mother, to help her around the home with tasks she herself cannot do. It is important to care for those you love because one day they simply will not be there anymore (deep historical strife aside, I do understand there are exceptions and I would never shame anyone for doing what they feel is best for themselves and their sanity.)

Aside from that, I’ve started a new job that pays more than what I had previously which will help towards building up my own garden and alchemical research. As much as I wish it to not be, we live in a materialistic world especially during this ever increasing period of economical strain.

Past that, there is not much else. I’ve grown far more plants than I can handle, but since when is that an issue? I see it as an overabundance of green wealth.

Sermon One: Fear and Free Will

These days it is far more important to pull away from social media and news outlets, from outside religious influences and political circles. That of course does not mean ostracize yourself but to instead engage in likeminded groups. In the advent of rising fear-mongering we may just be beginning to see another Satanic Panic in the works, yet it is important to remember that boxing yourself into fear and alienating from reality will lead to the death of your rightful free will.

I constantly see talk about Satanic symbolism in everything: hand gestures, concerts, clothing, the Olympics, even the face of popular sandwich cookies. This is simply a continuous tradition in the world of religious fear-mongering, and it is not tied to just Christianity: there are multiple religious practices that push these ideas and strike terror into the flock. Father Lucifer gave the world the gift to judge what is right and what is wrong, to lead ourselves away from the flock and towards greener pastures. He is the figurehead of free will, and to simply box yourself with the ideas that everything around you is bad and out to get you…well, you might as well be extinguishing your own black flame.

It is important to remember that the world is far bigger than we think. Every stone hides secrets to discover, every path both worn and hidden is a beautiful guide towards discovering who we truly are within this universe. Break out of the box and turn your flame into a bonfire of excitement and enlightenment. Turn fear into joy and always remember that anyone can find reasons to be afraid of anything, especially when they know they can use that fear to control the world.

May your day be blessed by the great Goetic powers that be, and may you find on this day something new no matter how big or small it is.
